HITACHI ZH210LC-5 HYBRID FOR A GREENER EUROPE

Hitachi Hybrid finally unveiled in Europe

Hitachi has recently launched the ZH210LC-5 hybrid excavator into the European market. The new model has undergone rigorous testing in a variety of conditions; performing well at temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius. The Japanese manufacturer was motivated by a need in Europe for machines that consume less fuel and and are compliant with tougher environmental legislation. Using the Trias HX system, Hitachi engineers, have developed a hybrid excavator that maximizes energy efficiency.

The system works by capturing energy released during braking of swing motion and storing it in the capacitor for reuse. It consumes on average 31 per cent less fuel than earlier models – with similar reductions in CO2 emissions. This is beneficial for operations with a high swing ratio, such as the loading of trucks. The new hybrid brings multiple benefits including reduced costs for plant owners, lower emissions and increased efficiency.
