TOUCH BOARD PCB BY BARE CONDUCTIVE

Conductive material turned into an interface thanks to capacitive sensing

Any fans of the Disney movie “Beauty and the Beast” here? Ok, none of you are ready to admit it but you surely will agree seeing all the featured objects singing and dancing was pretty awesome! Bare Conductive, a London-based design studio, brings objects to life with their Touch Board device! Thanks to their creation, everyday items become interactive and responsive artifacts by using capacitive sensing. Simply connect a speaker and micro USB cable to a chosen item to see it produce…a sound! Without revealing the magic behind it, let’s just say the pre-programmed Touch Board, the connected electrodes and the microSD card process the demand to play a track linked to the touch. Amazing, right? But that’s not enough for Bare Conductive apparently! Other lively features include electric painting: the Touch Board PCB can paint light switches on the wall with electrically conductive paint, create distance sensors functioning up to 20cm away. Turning touch into sound, a complete redefinition of established senses?
