TWIN-FUSELAGE CARPLANE PROTOTYPE DEBUTS AT AERO SHOW

"The World's Only Flying Car Currently Undergoing Formal Certification"

A new flying car concept made its debut at the recent AERO show in Friedrichshafen, Germany and it may well be the vehicle that actually makes the flying car dream a reality. The Carplane is backed both by the EU and the German state of Lower Saxony and according to the company’s website is “the world’s only flying car currently undergoing formal certification.”

The concept prototype combines smooth driving capabilities with the ability to fly an estimated distance of 517 miles (833 km) at a cruising speed of 125 mph (200 km/h). Weighing 1,097 lb (498 kg) the two seat light plane is propelled by a 151 bhp PC850 engine. It has a more attractive design than the TF-X by Terrafugia.
