Technical Fibre Products extended its current portfolio to include a range of high-quality recycled carbon veils and mats

Technical Fibre Products (TFP, Burnside, U.K.), a manufacturer of advanced nonwovens, has announced the extension of its current portfolio to include a range of high-quality recycled carbon veils and mats. TFP worked with partners such as Boeing, Ford Motor Co., Toho Tenax and the University of Nottingham (U.K.) as part of Technology Strategy Board-funded projects, such as AFRECAR and HIRECAR, to develop routes for carbon fiber recycling and processing. As a result, TFP has developed dispersion and processing of single-filament recycled carbon fibers for conversion into high-quality wet-laid nonwovens. TFP’s recycled carbon nonwovens can be produced from fiber reclaimed from composites by pyrolysis and integrated into a composite structure as a surfacing or semi-structural layer.
