CLOUD-BASED WATSON BY IBM

IBM to make its technology more widely available

IBM has just announced key modifications regarding Watson. IBM spent 14 years working on Watson which is an artificial learning system that digests large volumes of information to find hidden meanings. It will now be available for companies, academics, individual software developers as a cloud product. The specificity is that it will be more than twice as powerful via the Internet and at a lower cost than the previous one. This announcement follows IBM’s October declaration: “organizations gaining competitive advantage through high cloud adoption are reporting almost double the revenue growth and nearly 2.5 times higher gross profit growth than peer companies that are more cautious about cloud computing, from a recent [IBM] survey conducted with more than 800 business decision makers and users worldwide.”

As a matter of fact, public cloud services and end-user spending on public cloud services are expected to continue their important growth. By 2017, the forecast of the public cloud services market reaches more than $244 billion. Ready to enter the stage of futuristic computing for everyone?
