Tumble Brite EP-13 for Mass Finishing

Madison Chemical’s Tumble Brite EP-13 is a mild burnishing compound that can be used for mass finishing operations, is designed to provide excellent lubricity and controlled foam, and reduces excessive media-to-media wear.

Madison Chemical’s Tumble Brite EP-13 is a mild burnishing compound that’s especially useful for mass finishing operations. Compared with other alkaline products, the compound decreases burnishing time while cleaning oils and removing oxide and scale, producing a smooth surface with excellent bright appearance and luster, the company says. It is designed to provide excellent lubricity and controlled foam, and it reduces excessive media-to-media wear, making it especially useful for vibratory or barrel operations.

With a pH of 3.0 to 3.5, and a specific gravity of 1.08, the compound does not contain nitrite, phosphorus or silicate and is safe to use on stainless steel, ferrous, aluminum, zinc, copper and brass alloys, as well as for deburring operations. When not rinsed, it provides short-term rust protection for normal operations of steel media.

The compound may be used in vibratory applications in a dilution of 0.5-2.0 percent volume in water. In barrel equipment, the recommended dilution is 1.5-3.0 percent volume in water. When used in closed barrels, the barrel must be vented.
