The BCN3D launched its Sigma R19 and Sigmax R19 printers

Less than a year after the Spanish company BCN3D Technologies presented one of its main novelties, the 3D Sigmax printer. This year they announced their new launch of two new machines: The Sigma R19 and Sigmax R19. But what sets them apart from their previous versions? Will these innovations adapt to the industrial production required by the market?

The brand’s new generation of machines maintain dual printing with FDM technology, previously selected as one of the best brands with dual-extruder 3D printers. In the case of its new machines, the Sigma R19 is a 3D desktop printer with an IDEX architecture (of the acronym in English, Independent Dual Extrusion System), which allows the manufacture of parts with multiple high resolution materials. On the other hand, the Sigmax R19 3D printer, also with IDEX architecture. It is a more professional printer with a printing volume that allows manufacturing industrial grade production series.

“The new Sigma R19 and Sigmax R19 are equipped with one of the most powerful extrusion systems so far and also with the unique IDEX architecture. Such a great combination turn both printers into two of the most productive and reliable 3D printers ever seen,” says Xavier Martínez, CEO of BCN3D Technologies.

The new extrusion heads of the BCN3D machines have been designed by the British company e3D. Which has given them their technical knowledge to develop more reliable and accurate heads. They are also compatible with the first generation of 3D printers of the brand. The new R19 printers can use a range of six heads (with 0.3 mm to 1.0 mm nozzles) that improves the versatility of 3D printing.

The new machines have a switch that detects the filament. In case of detecting that there are no more, they stop automatically. Each one also has a colour touch screen that incorporates the new interface of the Spanish company.

“For this new generation of BCN3D printers, not only have we worked on creating a great hardware but also in improving the user experience, creating a refined graphic user interface with new informative screens, maintenance recommendations, new guided assistants and access to advanced settings.” Affirms Marc Felis, marketing manager of BCN3D Technologies.

BCN3D is expected to keep its new Sigma R19 and Sigmax R19 open source , as it has done with the rest of the machines they develop. The first official presentation of the R19 generation was during the TCT Show in England.
