KORENIX: CONNECTING INDUSTRIAL DEVICES TO THE IOT WORLD

JetPort Wireless Serial Device Server Series

The Internet of Things (IoT), an essential part of Industry 4.0, is the major technology trend of the near-future. The IoT already connects billions of industrial devices from barcodes to sensors to networks, which allows vast amounts of data to be collected and analyzed in a cost effective manner. Serial communication, an essential part of industrial connectivity, is steadily migrating from wired Ethernet to WiFi. As a result, wireless serial device servers occupy an important place in this growing trend.

Korenix is seeking to keep on top of the IoT trend and offers its series of industrial servers, JetPort Serial Device Server as a smart way to stay connected. Available in 1 or 4 RS232/422/485 ports, the server connects serial port devices such as card readers, measurement devices, or data acquisition terminals over Ethernet. In a press release, Korenix, says, “JetPort serial device server not only meets all customers’ requests such as redundant, security, I/O and multi-link functions, but also eliminates the limitation of single host and transmission distance of traditional serial communications by creating access for multiple hosts or wireless connection in Ethernet.”

JetPort server series features 128-bit WEP and WPA encrypted data transmission. It comes with freeware including JetPort Commander, an effective Windows utility that supports numerous activities such as device discovery, group firmware updates and monitoring functions. Completing the profile, JetPort possesses a versatile serial application: Real COM, Virtual COM, Serial Tunnel, TCP server, among others.
