Approved hazardous area panels for NEC/CEC market readily available
At the 2016 SPS IPC Drives trade show in Nuremberg, Germany, on 23 November, 2016, explosion protection specialist R. STAHL has received the official certificate of compliance for the "UL Hazardous Locations Industrial Panel Shop Program" from UL (Underwriters Laboratories), the global independent research and certification institution based in Northbrook, USA. R. STAHL can now independently provide UL certifications for panels not only for regular industrial environments, but also for systems designed for potentially explosive atmospheres. Notably, this also applies to customised solutions. The individual approval of explosion-protected, NEC-/CEC-compliant systems is carried out in collaboration with a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). For non-explosion-proof switchgear, R. STAHL had already been certified under the “UL Industrial Panel Shop Program”. This label, which indicates that UL 508A or CSA-C22.2 No. 73 stipulations are fulfilled for the USA and Canada, respectively, is regularly required in the NEC and CEC domain in North America. R. STAHL has been active in the United States and Canada for decades, providing electrical equipment and system solutions in many different industries, and supporting machine and plant builders as well as end users with engineering and documentation services. The company has therefore been able to continuously refine and expand their expertise for the regional and sectoral specifics of explosion protection in these markets. In addition to UL certifications, R. STAHL also offers other approvals for North America such as FM and CSA for an extensive range of products.
