Rakon releases small form factor OCSOs offering ultra low noise up to 1.2GHz

Compact SMD OCSOs for instrumentation, RADARs and Electronic Warfare systems

Rakon has released new Oven Controlled SAW Oscillators in a miniature 25.4 x 22 x 12.7 mm SMD package, currently available in 400MHz, 500MHz, 600MHz, 800MHz, 1GHz and 1.2GHz and all designed to be soldered by reflow.

This product series is designed for ground-based and shipboard RADAR, test equipment, and airborne systems where size and weight are critical.

Among them, the new LNO800E1 is a low noise, low power Oven Controlled, Voltage Controlled, SAW Oscillator (OCVCSO) operating at 800MHz and powered by a low +5V supply. The 800MHz signal is generated from a 400MHz fundamental frequency, followed by a low noise frequency doubler.

Features:

- Excellent phase noise performance (typical values):

-137dBc/Hz @ 1kHz offset

-160dBc/Hz @ 10kHz offset

-167dBc/Hz noise floor

- Broadband jitter < 10fs (frequency offset: 10kHz to 100MHz)

Applications:

- Instrumentation & test equipment

- Ground-based and shipboard RADAR

- Light weight airborne systems (e.g. UAV)
