The BAUMA exhibition, which took place from October 24 to 30 at the Trade Fair Center Messe München (Germany), represents the benchmark for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles, and construction equipment.
With its 200,000 sqm of exhibition halls and 414,000 sqm of outdoor space, this edition saw the participation of more than 3,000 exhibitors from 58 countries and registered 495,000 visitors at the entrance.

There was great and palpable satisfaction regarding the meetings and professional agreements, along with the commercial relationships established during the fair, thanks also to the extended opening hours and meeting spaces available for different professional figures.
Many innovations were brought by various manufacturers of machines, components, and accessories—among these was REMdevice (participating for the first time this year), which presented its "workhorses" alongside its latest technological and product innovations.

But let's take things in order.
What are the distinctive elements regarding the offer of the Nove (VI) based company for the different sectors, compared to the industrial radio control segment?

At the booth, REMdevice displayed all 4 of its product families capable of covering most applications in the construction and industrial sectors:

For these four families, should the application require greater specificity and therefore go beyond digital signal control, REMdevice offers the MOVE platform, which allows for the addition of various types of analog signals (4-20mA, 0-10V, PWM, Danfoss, Resistive) and serial bus signals.
 
BATTERY BOARD AND INDUCTION BATTERY CHARGER
Since its founding, REMdevice has focused heavily on the durability and reliability of its products for harsh environments such as construction sites.
In this regard, it has created products whose electronics are totally sealed from the outside and therefore less subject to atmospheric elements such as dust, dirt, and humidity.
Charging is carried out with an induction system, patented for the industry, which allows REMdevice to guarantee its products for 3 years, including rechargeable batteries.
The autonomy of these systems is 30/35 hours with a full charge of 5 hours.
A partial charge of 30 minutes allows for 4/5 hours of work.
If, however, a non-stop system is required, the company offers the TWIN solution, where one transmitter is always charging and available to replace its "twin," allowing for continuous work.

T SERIES AND THE BATTERY THAT LASTS UP TO 1000 HOURS
Another technology developed by REMdevice is available with the T series pushbutton panel, a radio control that does not need to be recharged.
The onboard electronics have minimized consumption; therefore, by using a high-capacity (non-rechargeable) lithium-ion battery, it can work for 800/1000 hours before it is depleted.
Many applications require the operator to work for about 2/3 hours a day, which means the T series can work for more than 3 years.
 
PANEL-TO-PANEL RADIO BRIDGE
REMdevice is among the few players that have expanded the scope of radio-frequency controls by bringing them inside the control panel and allowing communication between different panels: e.g., a plant with separate machines not connected by cables.
Thanks to UTC/URC (20 digital channels with simplex communication) and DCS10 (10 digital half-duplex channels), it is possible to establish radio communication in safety (PLd for emergency stop) between different points of a warehouse without laying cables.
A typical application is connecting a machine's sensors and limit switches to the control panel, which is not always located near the distribution board.

Let's present and explore all the various innovations introduced for the first time in Munich, which have already seen significant interest from the visitors at the REMdevice booth.

COLOR DISPLAY DEMO
Applications for controllers are evolving toward higher levels of complexity that require a rich and ergonomic human-machine interface.
At BAUMA 2022, REMdevice introduced a new color display concept on the Android platform, utilizing the graphic capabilities of today's smartphones and tablets.
The safety radio control communicates with the Android device through a new Bluetooth module designed, manufactured, and tested internally by the company.
The operator can read system information through a simple application that also allows for visual customization.
Visitor interest was strong, and new ideas have already emerged that REMdevice is committed to analyzing for the development of the next generation of radio controls.

"CRAWLER" DEMO
The "crawler" demo represents a technical exercise in a playful format to showcase the level of customization of REMdevice radio controls and the company's ability to act as a consultant for its clients.
The demo consists of a Genesis transmitter and a receiver mounted on a model crawler controlled by the same transmitter.
This model can be maneuvered manually with two single-axis joysticks or by relying on algorithms developed by REMdevice using the cross-joystick, which calculate how to combine direction components for smooth maneuvering.
Furthermore, it demonstrates features like compensation when driving sideways on an inclined plane, where the right and left tracks must rotate at different speeds proportional to the slope.
A webcam is also present on this demo to develop interest in industrial applications that are increasingly close to those of hobbies (drones) and consumer electronics (gaming).

DIAGNOSTICS IN THE DNA
REMdevice is the only one on the market to offer a diagnostic tool for its radio controls.
Where other competitors must take field measurements they often cannot fully collect (e.g., the number of maneuvers of a relay), REMdevice invented the Monitor Tester: a simple and useful accessory to verify the status of the receiver and its contacts, as well as its maneuver history (Number of STARTs, STOPs, loss of signal, loss of power).
More recently, the company developed the Monitor Tester WiFi (MTW), an evolution of the well-known Monitor Tester.
This is a module that resides within the receiver, eliminating the need for physical connection access.
MTW features a web-server and can therefore be accessed via a browser from any WiFi device such as a smartphone or PC.

An important experience is what REMdevice "brings home" from Bauma.
