Saip has launched REPUR, powder recycling system designed to turn waste polyurethane into useful products.

SAIP's commitment towards an increasingly sustainable future.

The circular economy is the only solution to production waste and the waste emergency. While research and investment in new solutions are being explored by our Group, SAIP has recently finalized REPUR® technology to meet the needs of customers increasingly pressed by rigorous waste disposal regulations and provide an answer to the reuse of production waste.

REPUR® is a technology that through a chemical and mechanical process, with zero polluting impact, is able to transform powders, resulting from the processing of polyurethane, MDF chipboard and other recycled materials, into a processable material with relevant properties. Thanks to binders with customized formulations developed in-house, it is possible to impart the desired physical and mechanical properties to the final product.

REPUR® is one of the greatest successes of the Pozzi Industries Group, as its technology allows PU waste to be reused as raw material for the production of PU panels.

In normal production, REPUR® can save up to 76% of the raw material needed in the production process. This means that for an annual production, more than 27,000 kg of raw materials can be avoided. In other words, by integrating REPUR® technology, a manufacturer can save up to 119 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to more than 28 flights around the world.
