Where there is a need, there is SANY

Recently, a charted private plane carried six SANY service engineers landed at Riga International Airport, Latvia. This unusual landing came after the EU's enforcement of the strictest traffic restriction in history in response to the service request to install the ship-to-shore container crane for the customer in Latvia."During this terrible situation caused by the epidemic, SANY's prompt service is invaluable," the local project leader commented.

Customer's request first

Last year, BTC, SANY's customer in Latvia, ordered a customized ship-to-shore container crane. On May 12, the machine finally arrived at the Riga port—the largest seaport in Baltic.

BTC who undertakes the responsibility of loading and unloading materials at the port faced huge pressure caused by the plummeting number of work staff due to the outbreak. To ease customer's pressure, SANY immediately called up a technical panel with 6 members led by an experienced engineer from SANY Europe, Germany.

However, unexpected problems followed one after another.

The first problem is the visa. European Union now prohibits the entry of residents from non-EU countries. Therefore, SANY Europe had to contact the Latvian Embassy to China to explain for the access to a Schengen visa.

Besides, there is no direct flight from China to Latvia currently, they needed to transfer in Germany. As the Schengen Visa could not help them across the German custom to enter the transfer area, they could not take any flight or other vehicles from Frankfurt to Riga.

Finally, they decided to take a private plane to bypass the transfer area through a special passage. Mr. Deng Haijun, Chairman of SANY Europe, approved this move though the total cost far exceeds the company's standards.

However, the challengeable trip became even compacted owning to the delayed flight in China, when everyone arrived in Germany, there were only 20 minutes left before the departure of the private plane.

Everyone was in a rush and all engineers embarked on the plane at the last minute. These unforgettable moments shall take root in all service engineers' memory as an individual. But it also counts among so many remarkable cases in SANY's days to come.
