SANY Foundation builds the next generation in China

Founded in 2013 under the auspices of SANY, China’s top machinery manufacturer, SANY Foundation strives to ‘promote scientific philanthropy'.

Over the past three years, SANY has been focused on early childhood development. Right now, there are around 17 million children in China at risk of poor early development. And, there are estimated to be 40 percent of children in the underdeveloped rural areas who have cognitive, language and athletic developmental delays. Without intervention, the model shows the poor labor force quality will fail to meet the requirement of societal and economic development.

The foundation’s investments in the projects have proven to yield fruitful results in putting children in China on a path to thrive. Working with its 8 partners, the Foundation has invested about 1.7 million USD since 2017 to fund projects across the nation. These investments have so far benefited over 20,000 children and their parents with access to early education service and behavioral parent training. Take for example Xichou County Village kindergarten, which is located in the remote mountain area in Yunnan province. Co-founded by SANY Foundation and China Development Research Foundation, the kindergarten provides access to preschool education for yearly 1500 under-aged children from local poor families. Since the founding of the institute, the kindergarten enrollment rate in Xichou County has increased by 18.48%, reaching 81.49% in 2019.

SANY Foundation has launched more major projects. For example, another flagship project, The Rural Vitalization in China, has entered its preparatory phase. From the upbringing of children to the development of rural China, SANY Foundation is helping create real and lasting change that reshapes the country’s future.
