SANY machines used in the North-South Highway in Algeria

The contractor CSCEC, China State Construction Engineering Corp is responsible for the 53km section from Chiffa to Berrouaghia, which is the most difficult section of the North-South Highway project. The complicated topographical and geological condition along the project in mountainous region is a real challenge for the construction work; nevertheless, SANY machines delivered superior performance.

To cope with the harsh geological conditions, a total of 40 bridges and two 2.4km long tunnels are built. 6 units of 90m³ and 2 units of 120m³concrete batching plants, 3 units of truck pumps, and 4 units of truck mixers from SANY are responsible for the production, transfer and pumping of concrete on site. Rotary drilling rigs are used for building pile foundation in the project. Truck cranes mainly undertake the lifting of large steel structures.

In addition, since the mountainous region is a home to an endangered monkey species in Algeria, the construction must comply with the strictest requirement for environmental protection. All the construction machines are environmental friendly, minimizing the noise and dust so as not to disturb the animals and bio-environment in general.
