SANY proactively develops wind power in Ethiopia

SANY has been engaged in wind power business in Ethiopia to echo the local government’s initiative of developing 1,600MW in the next four to five years.

SANY has been engaged in wind power business in Ethiopia to echo the local government’s initiative of developing 1,600MW in the next four to five years. Early in 2012, 102 SANY SE7715 wind turbines were used in the ADAMA II wind power project in Ethiopia, satisfying 20% of the electricity need in the capital Addis Ababa.

The project earned appraisal from high-profile officials of the Ethiopian government. President Mulatu Teshome recognized the quality of SANY equipment during his visit to the wind farm and appreciated SANY’s contribution to the infrastructure construction and social development throughout Ethiopia.

As part of the wind power cooperation, Seyoum Mesfin, Ethiopia’s ambassador to China visited SANY’s Industrial Park in Beijing, capital of China on Jan 4, 2017. The delegation were impressed by SANY’s state-of-the-art wind turbine production lines and technologies.

Mesfin expressed his high recognition of SANY Group’s strength. “We welcome SANY’s participation into Ethiopian wind power development and hope to build a long-term strategic relationship with SANY,” he said.
