Application in which nearly 40 AGVs were used in a leading packaging machinery company, revolutionizing traditional assembly line logic. It introduces the modern concept of variable routes based on the type of machine to be produced, utilizing an advanced automation and handling system, which is a flagship in the world of packaging machine production, among others.
Resolved Issues:
- Increased Productivity: The adoption of AGVs for automatic handling along the assembly line allows for the production of one machine every 13 minutes, improving workflow and minimizing downtime. The speed and accuracy of the AGVs optimize the production pace compared to traditional motorized or manual systems.
- Operational Flexibility: One of the most significant advantages of the AGV system is its ability to adapt to variable routes based on the specifications of each machine to be produced. This introduces a new concept of inline flexibility, where each machine can follow a different path, enabling highly customized and versatile production without compromising efficiency.
- Space Optimization: The introduction of AGVs has doubled the assembly line’s surface area by eliminating the need for fixed infrastructures, such as motorized conveyor belts, and making better use of the available space in the facility.
- Error Reduction and Improved Process Control: The AGV supervision system, interfaced with the MES, allows for real-time monitoring of production status and product handling along the line. This reduces the likelihood of operational errors and enhances overall control of the production process.
- Integration and Traceability: The integration with the MES ensures a comprehensive management of production-related data, enabling tracking of every phase of the process and providing a complete view of the product lifecycle. This improves analytical capabilities and allows for rapid identification and resolution of issues.
- System Scalability: The use of AGVs allows for easy scaling of production by adding additional vehicles without the need for redesign, making it adaptable to changes in demand and product types.
