Bielefeld, 3 February 2016

Wireless printing for as many users as you wish: With the PS55 WLAN print server, SEH Computertechnik GmbH delivers a product offering significant savings. This new product enables a large number of users to link five USB printers or multifunction peripherals through a WLAN. Device connection at the workstation level and the purchase of additional material is now obsolete. The PS55 is now available in stores.

"Thanks to the PS55, users can boost productivity while reducing costs," explained Joachim Sturmhoefel, CEO of Computertechnik GmbH. It makes it possible to integrate unlinked USB peripherals like printers and multifunction devices into a WLAN. The standard version can be used to connect two peripherals to the print server. Addition of a USB hub enables the connection of up to five devices.

"Devices that cannot be connected to a WLAN and were previously limited to use at a single workstation are now available to all network users via a wireless network," stressed Sturmhoefel. According to him, the PS55 eliminates the need to purchase individual workstation peripherals because existing material can be used by a greater number of people. In addition, setting up the wireless connection is rapid and simple thanks to a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button.Manual configuration is also possible.

You need only connect the material to the print server's USB port to provide access to a large number of users. This also provides access to connected devices using ThinPrint technology. "For the user, there's no difference between a connection to the computer or to the PS55 server," said Mr. Sturmhoefel. Printing is managed on the print server home page via your browser. Another option is to go through the SEH InterCon-NetTool installed on the computer.

Moreover, SEH has put in place systems designed to guarantee network security. The PS55 offers coded printing via an IPSec connection, complex access control, the ThinPrint protocol and integration into a network protected by the 802.1X authentication standard. The device is Ipv6-compatible.
