Simultaneous hobbing for the first time at SEMA

SEMA is a well known supplier of customized machine tools. Since 1988 it is developing and manufacturing machine tools for a variety of industries, like automotive, logistics and transport, energy, or building technology.

This year, the company developed a machine with a new technology - the simultaneos hobbing.

As the workpiece of the customer is symmetric, turning and gearing of both sides is being done at the same time in one single machine. As the process is done in one machine, there is no need to buy a second machine for the customer and the workpiece does not need to be passed to the next machine. Due to this technology, the cycle time was reduced to a minimum.

Also the milling producer was astonished by this idea, he had never seen that solution before.
