EAM50A/EBM50A Absolute Multi-Turn Encoder
[New Product Recommendation]
EAM50A/EBM50A multi-turn encoder, designed with absolute gear group method, compared with the pseudo multi-turn encoder on the market, has the characteristics of reliable output circle number information, no information loss after power failure, and avoids the problem of encoder resolution reduction caused by design method defects.
01 Principle of absolute multi-turn encoder
Multi-turn encoder, as the name implies, is an encoder that can measure the angular position change of multiple turns. Compared with single-turn encoder that can only measure angular displacement within 360°, multi-turn encoder can save the reducer when measuring angular position change above 360°, and is more convenient to use.
1 Relative circle number At present, there are two main types of multi-turn encoders on the market. The first type is to use a counter to add one for each positive turn of the main shaft and subtract one for each reverse turn. This method requires the product to be powered on before counting, and cannot be powered off during work. If it is powered off, it will lose the recorded circle number. In this way, there is another type that uses batteries or Wiegand coils to continuously power the counter, so that the recorded circle number information is not lost. But this way reflects only the relative circle number of the product, not the absolute circle number of the product, and there is unreliability in the application.
2 Absolute circle number The second type is to use a gear group to reflect the absolute circle number of the product. This gear group is generally divided into two types: reducer gear group and absolute gear group. The reducer gear group is to reduce one turn of the main shaft to 1/n turn by the gear ratio of the gear. This method will greatly reduce the resolution of the encoder. It will also bring backlash caused by gear clearance. The absolute gear group is to combine one level of gears and then calculate the circle number information through a special algorithm. It does not reduce the resolution of the encoder, nor does it have backlash due to gear clearance. It is the main technology used in high-end absolute multi-turn encoders.
02 Absolute Multi-Turn Encoder EAM50A/EBM50A Sibo’s EAM50A/EBM50A absolute multi-turn encoder uses this absolute gear group multi-turn encoder technology, combined with magnetic sensing technology, has the characteristics of accurate position, high precision, good repeatability, fast response speed, high reliability, long life, high environmental tolerance and so on. Widely used in CNC machine tools, material processing, motor feedback systems and measurement and control equipment.
1 Reliable structure It adopts aluminum alloy integrated flange and aluminum alloy shell, which is sturdy and reliable, and has a protection level of up to IP65.
2 High resolution and measurement accuracy The single-turn resolution can reach 14bit (16384), and the multi-turn circle number can reach 12bit (4096 circles). The repeatability is ±1Lsb and the linearity is ±0.3%.
3 Diversified output types It can output serial SSI signal, MODBUS bus signal and CAN bus signal etc.
4 Various interface types It provides various connection methods such as side cable, tail cable, side connector and tail connector.
