Brief Introduction of SENTOP CAN Module

SENTOP launch a series of module and controller with CAN. Users can use this module to connect the equipment's potentiometers, switches, and joysticks to CANbus network, or create control system with these equipments.

What Is CAN?

CAN is the abbreviation of Controller Area Network. It is a standardized serial communication protocol. CAN bus is widely used in industrial control and automobiles. The highly reliable performance of CAN has been recognized and widely being used in industrial automation, ships, medical equipment,industrial instruments and in different other fields.

The Birth of SENTOP CAN Module

To adapt to the development trend of technology,provide customers with better products and help customers upgrade control system,SENTOP launch a series of module and controller with CAN. Users can use this module to connect the equipment's potentiometers, switches, and joysticks to CANbus network, or create control system with these equipments.

1. S4803-CAN Brief Introduction

Basic functions: This module can convert analog and switch signals into digital codes and transfer through CAN communication protocol.

1)The module is suitable for 50mm and 90mm joysticks. It can be installed at the bottom of the joystick to form an integrated combination.

Potentiometers and switches on the joystick are connected to the module.

2)The module has 6 analog input channels. Each analog channel can be connected to a potentiometer. The module has its own power supply for the potentiometer. The output of the potentiometer will be converted into a 16-bitbinary digits.

3)The module has 16 switch input channels and can be connected to 16 switches. The module converts the ON and OFF states of the 16 switches into16-bit binary digits.

4)The module has a CAN output port, and the module sends the converted binary digits to the network through the CAN protocol. The controller receives the data for system control.

5)The module has CANopen protocol, users can use CODESYS to program, and can configure the working state of the module through CODESYS according to the control requirements.

6)The output data of the module can also be configured by our company to meet the output range and coding orders of the user according to therequirements. After the program is burnt into the module, it is sent in a fixedformat. The user receives the module data through the CAN communication protocol.

2. S4803-CAN Brief Introudction

Basic functions:The function of this modules are same to S4803-CAN dedicated module, and the utilization methodology are also the same. The difference is that this module has a housing, and the connector is a larger in size for easy wiring and can be installed separately in the electric cabinet.

1)The module is used for separate installation in a cabinet. It can connect the potentiometer and switch of the joystick installed on the console, and the separately installed potentiometer and switch to the module.

2)Each analog channel can be connected to a joystick’s potentiometer. The module has its own power supply. The output of the potentiometer will be converted into a 16-bit binary digits.

3)The module has 16 switch input channels. The module converts the ON and OFF states of the 16 switches into 16-bit binary digits.

4)The module has CANopen protocol. Users can use CODESYS to program andconfigure the working state of the module through CODESYS according to the control requirements.

3. SBS4803-CAN Brief Introduction

Basic functions:The function of this modules are same to S4803-CAN dedicated module, and the utilization methodology are also the same. The difference is that this module has a housing, and the connector is a larger in size for easy wiring and can be installed separately in the electric cabinet.

1)8-32V voltage is suitable for vehicle power supply.

2)A total of 32 signal ports, which can be configured by software to the required input and output types.

3)28 digital, 2 analog, 2 pulse inputs (some are multiplexed ports configured by software to the required input type).

4)Output up to 8 digital values (max. 1.7A per channel). 4 channels of PWM (max. 1.7A per channel); 2 channels of 5V, 2 channels of 10V reference voltage (some are multiplexed ports configured by software to the required output type).

5)The module has CANopen protocol. Users can use CODESYS to program and configure the working state of the module through CODESYS according to the control requirements.
