Why pour silicone grease into the high voltage cable jack?
The working environment of high voltage power supply is very complex, some areas are wet, some places are dry, and some places are rainy. In wet and rainy areas, it often causes high-voltage cable jacks to discharge and spark. The main reason is that the high pressure has adsorption effect on dust and other particles and the high voltage cable and the high voltage cable jack is not 0 tolerance, there is always a gap between them, in the course of years of work, the high voltage cable jack does not use silicone grease, it will lead to dust adsorption in the high voltage jack. Moisture after dust adsorption will reduce the high voltage insulation, which will make the high voltage from the high voltage cable jack to the metal housing, generating a spark. After ignition, it will damage the high-voltage power supply, high-voltage cable and the load of high-voltage power supply, causing some unnecessary heavy losses. Therefore, the high voltage cable jack must be filled with silicone grease.
High pressure silicone injection method:
Squeeze the high voltage silicone grease directly into the jack of the high voltage cable (if both ends of the high voltage cable are inserted into the high voltage cable jack, each high voltage cable jack needs to be injected with silicone grease in this way). Because the gap between the high voltage cable and the high voltage jack is large, it is necessary to squeeze some silicone grease into the high voltage jack, and then insert the high voltage cable into the high voltage jack. To determine the amount of silicone grease, observe whether the silicone grease overflows into the high voltage cable jack after the high voltage cable is inserted. If the silicone grease is not seen at the high voltage cable jack after the high voltage cable is inserted, it indicates that the amount of silicone grease injected into the high voltage cable jack is too small. If the high voltage cable is inserted outside the high voltage jack, too much silicone grease is injected into the high voltage jack.
Will this method make the high voltage cable metal head contact bad?
No. This is the design of the plug socket to ensure that the contact is not affected.
How much silicone grease is appropriate to inject?
The standard is: the cable is inserted into the silicone grease just to the high voltage jack, does not overflow is suitable, overflow paper to wipe off the excess.
