IE expo China is co-sponsored by the Munich Expo Group, the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Environmental Chamber of Commerce, China Renewable Resources Recycling Association, China Trade Munich Exhibition (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. From April 15th to 17th, 2019, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center(SNIEC), 2,047 exhibitors (1,762 exhibitors in 2018) exhibited their innovative technologies and solutions in the fields of water, solid waste, air, soil, and noise pollution. The three-day exhibition attracted 73,097 professional visitors (66,580 visitors in 2018). More than 400 unique meetings and concurrent activities were held during the exhibition, covering a wide range of topics and hitting a record high.

In order to meet the exhibition needs of environmental protection companies, IE expo China 2020 will be expanded to a display scale of 160,000 square meters, focusing on the world's leading enterprises, cutting-edge technologies and high-quality solutions in the field of environmental pollution control such as sewage treatment, pump pipe valves, solid waste treatment, resource recovery and utilization, air pollution control, site restoration, environmental monitoring, and environmental service industry.
