ZC in place inclinometer once again won the favor of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) , and recently received a new order for the second phase of the SBB railway tunnel monitoring project

Recently we got several hundred IPI orders from a Switzerland monitoring company, used for a station project. After 8 months test on our inclinometer, finally, it is approved and integrated into customers' platforms.

The country with the longest railroad mileage in the world is the United States, and the country with the longest high-speed rail mileage is the China, but who has the world’s largest railway network density is not the United States and China but is located between Germany, France, and Italy, known as the roof of Europe, Switzerland!

In the summer of 2019, ZC designed ZCT-CX100 in place inclinometer passed the evaluation of Swiss Federal Railways, and 200 sets of inclinometer probes were successfully applied to the tunnel entrance slope monitoring of the Zurich railway hub. Not long later, Zhichuan Technology again received another new order from Switzerland.

Zurich is at the heart of Central Europe, and its rail and road hubs connect Germany, France, Austria, and Italy. The Zurich area belongs to low hills and complex geological structures. Railways and highways often need to be connected by tunnels that cross ridges. In the north of Zurich, there is an important railway hub Oerlikon, north of the Bavarian region of Germany. There are three railway tunnels in the south of the hub connecting Zurich's central area: the oldest Wippingen tunnel was completed in 1856, the Kaferberg tunnel was completed in 1969, the latest Weinberg tunnel was opened to traffic in 2015, connecting Oerlikon and Zurich's largest passenger station Hauptbahnhof (HB), It is nearly 5 kilometers in length and deep in depth. It passes under several other tunnels (such as Hirschengraben Railway Tunnel, Letten Railway Tunnel, Milchbuck Highway Tunnel, etc.).

In order to ensure the safety of the three railway tunnels, the Swiss Federal Railways selected ZCT-CX100 (some of which used the latest design ZCT-CX300) in place inclinometer to monitor the displacement of the track subgrade after comprehensive comparison. CX100/300 fixed inclinometer has the characteristics of high precision (resolution 0.001 degree, accuracy up to 0.005 degree), excellent waterproof performance (according to IP67 standard), open acquisition mode (RS-485 Modbus), etc. It is widely used in displacement monitoring of slopes, tunnels, foundation pits, dams, embankments, tailings ponds, etc.

The construction site of this project is located at several key railroad embankments, and a total of 40 exploratory caves were drilled. Each exploratory cave contained 5-10 probes connected in a series with a sensing interval of 2 meters. A total of 225 probes and 15 Zhichuan were used. A wireless data collector independently developed by science and technology.

Whether data collection is convenient and open is a matter of great concern to every geological monitoring user. In this point, Zhichuan Technology's solution is:

1-For users whose host computer is close to the installation site, it is recommended to use a wired data collector with free host computer software.

2-For users whose host computer is far away from the installation site, it is recommended to use a wireless data collector with free host computer software.

3-For professional users who are familiar with serial communication, if there is Ethernet at the installation site, you can choose to collect data directly from the probe (probe protocol and command open); if there is no Ethernet at the installation site and remote collection is required, it is recommended to use a wireless data collector. And collect data directly from the wireless data collector (wireless data collector protocol and command open).

It can be seen that no matter what the site conditions and the user's technical skills are, ZC Technology can recommend a suitable data collection solution for it. In this project, customers are professional and familiar with serial communication. According to different field conditions, they adopted a combination of direct acquisition from the probe and direct acquisition from the wireless data logger to achieve the ideal data collection effect. In fact, Whatever problems users have during the installation and usage, the ZC engineers will respond promptly and provide remote support, to ensure customers can use the inclinometer comfortably.
