Modify the Network Segment
In order to establish a connection between the computer and the GCAN Ethernet can gateway, we must first place the two in the same network segment.
The GCAN Ethernet CAN gateway is a data converter integrating one Ethernet interface and two CANBUS interfaces, which can be connected to a computer and CANBUS communication equipment to realize computer control or information monitoring of other equipment.
In order to establish a connection between the computer and the GCAN Ethernet can gateway, we must first place the two in the same network segment.
How do we achieve this?
Very simple, we first restore the GCAN Ethernet can gateway to the factory IP, usually 192.168.1.10.
Then, we only need to set the IP of the computer to 192.168.1.X (X is any number from 1 to 255, except 10, because the gateway is already 10).
Right-click the Internet icon in the lower right corner of the computer screen, find the network setting option and click it.
After clicking, find the change adapter option and click in again.
In the network adapter, find the Ethernet settings, right-click properties, and find the IPV4 settings.
In the IPV4 setting, fill in the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS in sequence. For details on what to fill in, please refer to the device manual.
