What is segment code LCD screen?
LCD screens have been widely used in all walks of life, so there are more types. Many of the things we see in our daily lives, such as mobile phones, remote controls, calculators, etc., have displays. These LCD screens are all display devices. The displays on these devices are actually LCD screens. Professionally, we call them segment LCDs. Segment LCD screens are generally customized according to customer requirements, and the customization process is also known as segment LCD. It is called mold opening. Segment code LCD screen mold opening usually involves proofing, and the screens used for proofing are generally black and white displays or segment code screens.
What does segment code LCD screen mean?
Segment LCD, or segment LCD screen, is one of the LCD products, but within the LCD industry, it is generally called pattern LCD screen, pen segment LCD screen, monochrome LCD screen, etc. . It refers to a fixed LCD display that displays or does not display at a specified position. It can only be used to simply display numbers and characters. It is mainly used to replace the LED digital tube (which is composed of 7 pen segments and is used for display Numbers 0 to 9). LCDs are classified by type: TN type LCD, HTN type LCD, STN type LCD, FSTN type LCD, etc.
Working principle of segment code LCD screen:
The three modes of full transmission, semi-transmission and reflection are common modes of TN LCD screens. Generally speaking, liquid crystals do not actively emit light, so an external light source is required. One feasible method is to provide an external light source, that is, a backlight. The backlight can be used or not. The light source of fully transmissive liquid crystal is behind the liquid crystal; the light source of reflective liquid crystal comes from the front of the liquid crystal and is reflected by the polarizer of the LCD screen to the observer’s eyes; the semi-transmissive liquid crystal is somewhere between the two. During this time, there is both light from behind the liquid crystal and reflected light from the front. Therefore, fully transmissive liquid crystals require the use of a backlight, while reflective liquid crystals do not require a backlight. Semi-transmissive liquid crystals may or may not use a backlight. An LCD screen without a backlight cannot see the display in the dark.
