While South Korea still maintains a significant advantage in terms of market share, the gap between China and South Korea in terms of production capacity is only 10 percentage points.

According to the data from Trendforce on July 25th, China’s OLED display panel production capacity reached 43.7%, while South Korea accounted for 54.9%.

Five years ago, China’s OLED display panel production capacity was less than 10%. However, today, that number has exceeded 40%, with a gap of only 10 percentage points compared to South Korea.

At the same time, according to data from Omdia, in the small and medium-sized OLED display market, Samsung Display once held over 80% of the market share but dropped to 54.7% in the first quarter of this year.

In contrast, China’s BOE Technology Group, which fiercely competes with LG Display for the second position, rose to second place with a share of 19.2%, surpassing LG Display’s 17.4% share.

In the global liquid crystal display (LCD) market, China’s dominant position is also becoming increasingly solid.

In 2022, mainland China accounted for 55.5% of the LCD market share, followed by China’s Taiwan with 27.6%, South Korea with 13.5%, and Japan with 2.9%.
