AKG394 3-Axis Vibration Sensor for Road Roller Vibration Monitoring
Reliable vibration measurement for road rollers and compaction equipment.
During road construction, vibration is one of the key operating characteristics of a vibratory road roller. Accurate vibration data can help equipment manufacturers and engineers test roller performance, monitor operating conditions, and analyze vibration characteristics during compaction.
The AKG394 three-axis digital vibration sensor is designed for this type of application. It measures vibration along the X, Y and Z axes and provides digital output for vibration testing and monitoring systems.
Designed for Road Roller Applications
Road rollers work in demanding conditions, with continuous vibration, mechanical shock and temperature changes. For this reason, vibration sensors used on compaction equipment need to provide stable measurement and reliable output.
AKG394 is suitable for road rollers, large machinery and engines, as well as other vibration testing applications. Its compact 34.3 × 34.3 × 38.5 mm design allows it to be integrated into equipment where installation space is limited.
The sensor operates from 9–36V and supports an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for outdoor construction and industrial environments.
Frequency, Velocity and Amplitude Measurement
For road roller vibration testing, simply detecting vibration is often not enough. Engineers may need to understand the vibration frequency, velocity and amplitude of the equipment.
AKG394 features built-in FFT processing, allowing vibration frequency information to be processed inside the sensor. The sensor can directly output vibration frequency, velocity and amplitude for further monitoring and data analysis.
The sampling frequency can also be adjusted according to the actual vibration frequency of the monitored equipment. This allows users to select a suitable sampling setting for different vibration conditions and improve the accuracy of frequency measurement.
RS485 Supports Multi-Point Measurement
AKG394 supports RS232, RS485 and TTL digital interfaces, providing flexible options for connection with monitoring or data acquisition systems.
For applications requiring multiple measurement points, different sensor address codes can be configured. Multiple sensors can be connected in series for long-distance transmission and multi-point vibration measurement.
This is particularly useful for large equipment and systems where vibration needs to be measured at different locations. Engineers can collect data from multiple sensors and use it for comparative testing and vibration analysis.
Stable Performance in Harsh Conditions
The AKG394 uses a single-crystal silicon capacitive sensing element, combined with a low-power ASIC for signal conditioning, a microprocessor for compensation values and a temperature sensor.
The sensor is designed for low power consumption, stable output and good environmental performance, with resistance to the effects of shock, vibration and temperature variation.
Electronic protection functions are also included to support reset and over-voltage protection.
