We are proud to announce the completion and prompt delivery of a 400-ton two-column hydraulic press, model PST 400 A, custom-built for one of our customers. The press will be used in a mechanical workshop for sheet metal deformation and metal forming.

This new development confirms our leadership in the construction of custom, high-capacity industrial presses. The distinguishing feature of this machine is its exceptional 400-ton capacity, ideal for deep drawing cycles and processes requiring high forces.

The robust two-column structure ensures optimal structural rigidity, essential for the accuracy of the finished part.

To facilitate the handling of large workpieces, the maximum distance between the tables is 1200 mm. The tables themselves are generously sized: the lower fixed table measures 1400 x 1000 mm, while the upper moving table is 1200 x 900 mm. Both are fully equipped with T-slots for quick and secure mold mounting.

In terms of performance, the press is equipped with an advanced hydraulic system powered by a 22 kW hydraulic power unit, ensuring a perfect balance between power and energy efficiency. The work cycle is optimized thanks to different calibrated speeds: the rapid advancement is set at 20 mm/sec to minimize idle times, followed by a slowdown of 10 mm/sec – with a maximum pressure of 100 bar for a controlled approach to the mold.

The actual working speed for the pressing phase is variable and adjustable between 5 and 10 mm/sec, thanks to the presence of a variable flow pump that decreases the working speed as the pressure increases.

In line with the most stringent European standards, safety is ensured by photoelectric barriers that protect the entire work area. This photocell system immediately stops the press if an operator accidentally steps in the way during the pressing process, ensuring maximum safety.

Operational management is made intuitive and highly programmable thanks to the integration of a Siemens digital touchscreen.
This advanced control panel allows for extremely precise adjustment of all operating parameters, such as cylinder stroke, down dwell time, maximum pressure, and alarms. A significant advantage is the ability to save up to 100 different work programs, making production changeovers extremely quick and efficient.

This new 400-ton two-column hydraulic press represents the excellence of Made in Italy engineering at the service of the metallurgical industry.
