Technical Features and Customization of the Electro-Hydraulic Press
The project is based on a high-capacity electro-hydraulic press, but it was the customer's requests for customization that made it unique. The central element is the generously sized 1050 x 700 mm mobile bench or sliding table. This feature was designed to facilitate loading heavy railway components (such as joints and universal joints) directly onto the bench using an overhead crane. The operator can then easily load the parts and, with a simple command, slide the table under the cylinder to begin the pressing cycle.
The table movement is hydraulic, ensuring smoothness and precision, and is activated by a special lever, providing the operator with the necessary control during the preparatory phases.
Operational Flexibility for Different Sized Pieces
To maximize processing flexibility, the customer requested the addition of two additional lift plates. These modular plates reduce the distance between the piston and the work platform, allowing the 100-ton hydraulic press to efficiently process metal parts of varying sizes and heights, from the thinnest to the bulkiest components.
An additional level of versatility is provided by the configuration of the three work tables (the sliding table and the two riser plates). Each is equipped with a 300 mm central hole, strategically designed for operations that require a passage or discharge through the work surface. The crucial feature is the presence of a removable plate to cover the hole.
This intelligent design allows the operator to:
1. Use the full height of the press and the bore for extrusion or assembly operations by removing the cover plate.
2. Use the full surface of the work table for standard pressing operations when the cover is placed on the bench.
Maximum Precision with Cross Cylinder
The customization doesn't stop there. The hydraulic piston mounted on the sliding table press is equipped with a transverse (left-to-right) movement system. The operator controls this fine movement using a handwheel, allowing the operator to reach any point of the material on the bench without having to move the workpiece itself. This significantly increases precision and reduces setup times.
Safety and European Regulatory Compliance
Operational safety is guaranteed by compliance with European safety standards. The hydraulic cylinder operates at a controlled speed of 9 mm/sec. This speed, combined with the ergonomics of the machine, allows the operator to operate the press with just one hand during the approach and positioning phases. The combination of high force, customization, and attention to safety makes this electro-hydraulic press the ideal tool for high-quality production in the railway sector.
