A Special Design for the Railway Sector
The customer's requirement was clear: to have a significant pressing force combined with a structural configuration that would allow the removal of the pins from train wheels. To meet this need, SICMI has adapted the design of its PMM 400 hydraulic straightening press, integrating a particular front opening on the work surface.

This structural modification allows for easy accommodation of railway axles, taking advantage of the central opening of 720 × 1150 mm to manage components with maximum efficiency.

Power and Precision Without Compromise
The press, characterized by a power of 400 tons, ensures excellent performance for straightening and heavy maintenance:

Mobile Portal Structure: Allows free positioning of the cylinder across the entire work area, essential for bulky pieces such as train wheels.

Advanced Control: Thanks to the touchscreen display Siemens KTP 900, the operator can manage the pressure and stroke of the cylinder with millimetric precision (0,1 mm), ensuring the integrity of the treated components.

Rectified Work Plan: Generous dimensions of 2535 x 1480 mm for total operational stability.

Safety and Quality Made in Italy
At the customer's request, this hydraulic press for removing railway axles is equipped with polycarbonate perimeters high resistance to protect the operator during the most critical pressure phases.

This collaboration with our American distributor Lakeshore Machine & Tool who sold the press to U.S. Steel confirms SICMI's ability to transform its standard models into unique special machines, designed around the specific production needs of world industry leaders.
