SITOP SEL1200 and SEL1400

New selectivity module versions with four outputs and lower tripping currents

Siemens is presenting four new Sitop selectivity modules for the reliable protection of 24-volt load circuits. Complementing the existing Sitop SEL1200 and SEL1400 modules with eight outputs of ten amperes (A) output current, the new versions of both modules offer 4x10 amperes and 8x5 amperes, which means they can be tailored more precisely to the system. In addition, comprehensive diagnostic functions simplify handling and troubleshooting in the event of an error.

Sitop selectivity modules split the 24-volt output voltage of the power supply on several load circuits, monitor them selectively for overload and switch off a faulty output. This means that the intact outputs can be supplied with 24 volts without interruption. The Sitop SEL1200 and SEL1400 modules are now also available as four-channel versions with two to ten amperes per output and as an eight-channel version for lower currents between one and five amperes per output.

All selectivity modules can be combined together so that for example the 24-volt supply can be split and monitored on twelve load circuits with one eight and one four-channel module. The SEL1200 expansion modules feature a switching switch-off characteristic for standard requirements in accordance with the PLC standard (EN 61131, standard for the basics of programmable logic controllers) and SEL1400 modules also meet the maximum requirements for 24-volt protection thanks to the current-limiting switch-off characteristic.

All Sitop SEL selectivity modules feature enhanced diagnostic capabilities. For example, if a load circuit is switched off in the event of an error, the LED (Light-Emitting Diode) for this output lights up red. In addition, the reason for the switch-off is indicated to the controller via a digital input. This diagnostic interface also provides the user with up-to-date information about the load current of each output and about all device settings and information. With this diagnostic function and a modern design, the Sitop selectivity modules are the ideal addition to standard Sitop PSU6200 power supplies.
