Greater work safety with simatherm induction heaters

A cement plant from Poland uses simatherm induction heaters for the heating of workpieces.

The oldest active cement plant in Poland was already heating bearings and other annular parts to ease assembly. The methods used depended on the size of the parts; an oil bath for larger parts and a small induction heater for smaller parts. The oil bath was slow, messy and potentially hazardous with hot oil dripping from the components as they were hurried to the assembly area.

The simatec distribution partner from Poland, Margo, made a professional product presentation of simatherm induction heaters and explained the specific benefits. Induction heating is very efficient as the heating occurs within the component material itself and does not require a transfer medium such as oil (in a heater bath) or air (in an oven). The time saving is considerable; the oil bath needed several hours to heat these large parts whereas with the IH 210 they have clean parts heated accurately to the required temperature in only 40 minutes. The heater is also small and light enough to be positioned close to each mounting point, minimising the distance that the hot component must be moved. This increases the work safety substantially, is more economical and improves the process reliability.

Due to these advantages, the customer decided to purchase an IH 210F with a cooling fan. The customer is very satisfied with their new simatherm heater. Large parts like the pictured coupling hub can now be heated economically and safely.

Applications of simatherm in cement plants:

- Flanges

- Bearing housings

- Rolling bearings

- Seals

- Pinions

- Gears

- Hubs

Benefits of simatherm IH 210 over an oil bath:

- Heats in minutes not hours

- Components clean and demagnetised

- Heater can be moved to where needed

- No risk of burns due to oil splashes

- No harmful vapours are released

- Easy to use. Subsequent cleaning of oil from the workpiece is eliminated

The simatherm IH 210F heats the coupling hub.
