plantPerfect Monitor 2.10 Adds Notifications and a Data Interface to Network Monitoring
New features simplify the analysis of PROFIBUS and PROFINET data and integration with existing applications.
Softing Industrial Automation is expanding plantPerfect Monitor with new features for analyzing and using industrial network data. Version 2.10 can send event notifications by email or Microsoft Teams and makes asset and network data available to other applications via an i3X REST API.
plantPerfect Monitor monitors PROFIBUS and PROFINET networks in a web-based application. The software uses data collected by Softing’s smartLink components to provide a centralized view of device inventories, status information, diagnostics, and statistics.
Track Network Events More Effectively
In version 2.10, users can receive event notifications by email or Microsoft Teams. An improved event list also displays past status changes. This allows maintenance teams to trace changes in the network and respond quickly.
For PROFINET devices, the new version supports GSDML files to display more detailed diagnostic information. Custom names for devices, networks, and servers make it easier to relate the displayed data to the plant.
Use Network Data in Other Applications
The new i3X-compatible REST API enables asset and network data from plantPerfect Monitor to be integrated into other applications. Users can also export asset data to Microsoft Excel, for example to analyze or document device inventories outside the monitoring application.
Working Together with smartLink
Softing’s smartLink HW-DP gateway collects network data for PROFIBUS, while smartLink HW-PN performs this function for PROFINET. The components transfer the data to plantPerfect Monitor via MQTT. The operation of the monitoring software requires the corresponding smartLink components.
