Softing presents product news for OPC Communication, PROFIBUS and PROFINET Diagnostics and Cable Certification

• With the newly released dataFEED OPC Suite, Softing addresses all the aspects of OPC communication with one product. The Suite combines OPC Server and OPC Middleware functionality into one compact and powerful software solution. The state-of-the-art graphical user interface with intelligent, practice-oriented default settings and intuitive user guidance is designed to make it exceptionally easy for plant manufacturers and maintenance engineers to quickly configure OPC communications. “We offer our customers an all-in-one solution that makes OPC communication extremely simple to configure,” says Andreas Roeck, Product Manager at Softing. “For example, the configuration of our new dataFEED OPC Server B&R takes just three mouse clicks." In addition to B&R, the dataFEED OPC Suite supports numerous industrial communication protocols and offers connectivity to legacy and modern controllers from leading manufacturers like Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, or Schneider Electric.

• In the field of PROFIBUS Diagnostics, Softing introduces its new PROFIBUS Tester 5 (BC-700-PB), a powerful diagnostic and troubleshooting tool for comprehensive testing of PROFIBUS segments which can now also be used for cable testing. The device is battery powered which guarantees the highest level of mobility in the field. Test results are shown clearly and easily understandable on the new graphic display when the device is operated in stand-alone mode, and can be exported for extended analysis in PC mode. "Up to now, users had to buy the diagnostic tool and the cable tester separately," explains Heiko Nickel, Product Manager at Softing. "The BC-700-PB is the first battery-operated tester that combines bus physics, bus communication and cable testing in one device."

• For PROFINET diagnostics, the proven solutions TH SCOPE and TH LINK provide a network-wide monitoring capability and are always ready for operation with no engineering work required. The recently released version 1.5 of the TH SCOPE diagnostics software offers additional functionalities for the display of network topologies and for the performance and use of reference measurements which makes commissioning more efficient and effective, and allows the permanent monitoring of Ethernet-based networks.

• In the area of Cable Certification, Softing presents WireXpert, a state-of-the-art tester which makes the certification of structured cabling systems more efficient and precisely compliant to the standards.
