Ultrasonically Splice TINNED—to 60 mm²—and Bare Copper—to 100 mm²—Wires With Our SpliceRite™ Units—See Before You Buy!
The EXCLUSIVE capability of Sonobond’s SpliceRite™ to ultrasonically splice TINNED wires will be demonstrated at the Assembly Show, October 27-29, Rosemont, IL, USA. Our technical personnel will be in BOOTH #1215 to display oxidized/tinned wire splices—up to 60 mm²–as well as bare copper bundles—up to 100 mm²—produced in one quick pulse and without pre-cleaning.
These solid-state metallurgical welds meet IPC/WHMA-A-620B specifications for high conductivity and tensile strength and have been used for wire-to-wire applications in many industries since 1960—the year Sonobond (then known as Aeroprojects) received the first patent ever awarded for ultrasonic metal welding.
UNIQUE ADVANTAGES WITH OUR ULTRASONIC TECHNOLOGY
Sonobond’s oxidized/tinned wire splicing capability—unmatched by any other ultrasonic machine—is due to our patented WEDGE-REED Bonding System. This System maximizes ultrasonic metal welding effectiveness by combining high vibratory force with low amplitude coupling, and shear mode vibration with direct vertical force which are essential for eliminating bending stresses and stalling.
SpliceRite™ units have tool steel Taper Lock Tips that can last up to 100,000 welds, are easily replaced and require no recalibration; and a microprocessor that stores and recalls 250 jobs. Our Dual Head SpliceRite™ is the FIRST ultrasonic splicer to handle copper bundles up to 100 mm² and is the unit that splices tinned wire up to 60 mm². For smaller capacity needs we have models for 40-60 mm² wire and 20-35 mm² tinned wire.
