30, 60, 90 minutes after the outbreak of a fire, junction boxes from our WKE 2-6 series ensure that electrical systems continue to work during the fire. Sounding the fire alarm system comes at the start of the reaction chain. Emergency lighting marks the evacuation route and pressure boosting systems are required to operate for up to 90 minutes after the fire starts. The products in our LIFELINE range stand for the intelligent interplay between innovative product designs and top quality heat and fire resistant materials and components. This guarantees that all relevant safety systems continue to function without interruption in a fire, even under the toughest conditions. Spelsberg utilises materials here including high performance polycarbonate, which is non-conductive during a fire and therefore does not cause a short circuit. In this way, Spelsberg guarantees completely reliable intrinsic fire resistance ex works – and therefore ensures that more time is available to protect lives in an emergency.

The base carrier

Changing the position of the base carrier is possible with just ONE screw. The base carrier can be turned in 45° steps, and allows the electrician to connect the unit with straightforward wiring.

Mounting rail

The mounting rail offers space for installing single and double terminals, or fuse holders. The mounting rail is height-adjustable in two positions, specially for the use of fuse types.

Cable insertions

The pre-punched, patented knock-out membranes guarantee clean cable insertion and help with speedy installation. The continuous centre markings on the boxes and external fixing lugs make the installation extremely easy.

Our quality promise

Meticulously tested in the lab, no wish remains unanswered. The cable junction and connection boxes are tested in accordance with DIN 4102 part 12, and certified in accordance with VDE and ULEU. The WKE boxes withstand impact energy of IK08 and the IP66 protection class confirms complete dust-tightness and resistance to strong water jets. Also suitable for use outdoors.

Small details make a big impact

External fixing lug

The external fixing lugs are pre-assembled and therefore ready for immediate installation. The lug can be rotated through 90° if required.

Cover retainer

A cover retainer is included with the accessories and can be optionally used by the fitter.

Seal

To protect the cable junction and connection boxes with intrinsic fire resistance against unauthorised access, sealing is possible due to integrated openings in the cover and box.

Lettering

The box design is conceived such that extra spaces are provided for personalised lettering. The lettering can be applied with adhesive strips or using a waterproof pen.
