Flame-retardant standard and special clamps for pipes, tubes, hoses, cables and other components

The development and production of flame-retardant plastic components for secure fastening of pipes, tubes, hoses, cables and other components is one of the core competences of Stauff, the fluid technology specialist based in Werdohl in Germany. The special feature: In addition to standard block clamps according to DIN 3015, which are manufactured from thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers in large quantities, the company also produces individually designed special versions according to customer specifications or based on in-house developments. Plate blanks are machined with cutting tools to additionally allow implementation of small and medium quantities at competitive prices.

Both options offer customers the largest possible variety and flexibility for the design of fastening solutions for conceivably complex line systems.

The materials used by Stauff for both manufacturing processes meet the highest relevant fire protection requirements, for example the European railway standard EN 45545-2. They exceed the defined limit values of the requirements set R22 for hazard level HL3 which applies to seals, hoses, cable conduits and other indoor components. The category HL3 rating allows use of the fastening elements in all operating and design classes for rail vehicles covered by the standard.

The classification of the required material properties was verified with different test methods which were carried out by independent test institutes. In addition to the oxygen index, i.e. the determination of the oxygen limit value until combustion of the material, the low flue gas and low toxicity are of particular relevance for components which are handled under the requirements set R22. If a material complies with the requirements set R22, it can also be used in the areas of the requirements sets R23, R24 and R26.
