Pressure and level measurement is indispensable under different conditions in numerous application areas. With innovative configurable pressure transmitters of the PTM.MT/N/Ex series from STS , users are equipped for all eventualities.

Pressure measurement is indispensable in many working areas for safety reasons or specific requirements. This is especially true in hazardous areas, where overpressure can have severe consequences. Here, the use of suitable pressure transmitters is essential. Classical areas of application for pressure measurement can be found, for example, in environmental and food technology and related branches of industry. The same applies to level measurement, for example in wastewater and sewage treatment plants. Here, too, precise measurement is absolutely essential in order to control associated risks and optimize processes.

A particular challenge is on-site measurement in line with requirements. If a permanently installed transmitter has to be checked or replaced, or if a level measurement has to be carried out spontaneously on site, for example in a wastewater treatment plant, this can only be done if the transmitter suitable for the individual conditions is readily available.

The STS configurable pressure and temperature sensors for hazardous areas can be precisely adapted to the operating conditions on site. In this way, we prevent, for example, skilled personnel from having to carry a large number of different transmitters or discovering on site that they are not properly equipped.

The PTM.MT/N/Ex transmitters measures relative pressure from 0-100 mbar to 0-4 bar or absolute pressure from 0-700 mbar up to 0-6 bar. The measuring range can be individually set on site via a modem. A wide range of adapters and mounting accessories allows any type of installation of the transmitter. For versatile use, it is combined with cables of various lengths between 3 and 35 m.

The housing in high-quality titanium, in combination with Teflon cables, allows the transmitter to be used in aggressive media such as salt water or acids.

A preferred field of application for our transmitters is level determination in tanks in maritime applications. In these applications, one transmitter can be used to measure all liquids relevant on board, from fuels and oils to drinking water and waste water. A special highlight and a clear product advantage over competitor products is the simultaneous possibility of temperature measurement.

The transmitter itself has a temperature measurement range of -20 to 100 °C.

All in all, the PTM.MT/N/Ex is the optimal spare part for many application scenarios thanks to its versatility and the possibility of easy adaptation to operating conditions and requirements.

The development and manufacture of innovative pressure measurement solutions is concentrated at the Sirnach headquarters. Here, all individual parts of the sensors are manufactured, the sensors are calibrated and, after a final check, they are distributed worldwide as quality products "Made in Switzerland" via the various subsidiaries and distributors.
