Digital Pressure Transmitter DTM.OCS.S: Accurate measurement under hot and cold conditions

This precision instrument from STS Sensortechnik offers users a wide range of applications In machinery and auto manufacturing, among other industries, the respective given pressure is a key performance indicator. A car's air conditioning, for example, only works properly if the coolant is pressed through the pump system at a constant pressure. In order for engineers to be able to monitor these and other systems, the Swiss precision technology supplier STS Sensortechnik has developed the digital pressure transmitter DTM.OCS.S. The compact design of the measuring element facilitates installation in all kinds of test beds. The DTM.OCS.S is also suitable for permanent process control, such as in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.

The wide temperature scale of -40 to 85° Celsius across which the instrument measures is a great advantage. Its accuracy across the entire spectrum is 0.1 per cent FS. At a constant ambient temperature, the sensor even achieves an accuracy level of 0.03 percent FS. "Customers who opt for the DTM.OCS.S can use it to carry out many different measurements for which they would otherwise require multiple devices," says Marc Simmen, Product Manager at STS Sensortechnik. "There is also a wide range of process connections, electrical connections and cable types available. Thanks to this modular product concept, we are able to deliver a finished product within seven working days, regardless of the desired number of units," says Simmen. For customers who do not find what they need in the wide product range, STS Sensortechnik also offers the option of developing a tailored solution.

Product version DTM.OCS.S/N is suitable for simultaneous pressure and temperature measurements

(-5 ° to 80 ° Celsius) in liquids. Thus, users are able to measure two important parameters using just one sensor. Thanks to the optional titanium version, acidic and other aggressive media are not a problem.

Both sensors meet the current industry standards thanks to their wide temperature range and the communication protocol Modbus RTU and RS485 interface. This allows installation of DTM.OCS.S into existing systems with minimal time and expenditure. Both products are also available with plug-in cables. This permits time-saving device swapping without having to change the cabling. A further advantage is the option of being able to change the zero point and the measurement unit according to the respective application.
