Dust extraction systems: functionality and applications

Dust extraction is a necessary process in many manufacturing companies, especially for the medium and large sized ones that produce, through various processes, a huge amount of dry dust and derived from sanding.

Why is the dust extraction process useful, even if not harmful? The answer is simple and takes into consideration several factors: besides the fact that it makes the work areas cleaner, the constant suction of dust protects the health and safety of workers, makes any activities easier, and lays the foundations for improving work performance.

The application sectors of dust extraction systems vary from car bodyshops to boatyards (both cases medium and large dimensions), as well as joinery and manufacturing industries. What unites these different sectors is the need to vacuum dust: it does not matter if they derive from sanding of different surfaces such as car body parts, wood, marble, metal or other materials, the focus, for us suppliers and you customers, is to ensure the best performance thanks to the Stucchi 1950 dust extractors.

In this regard, let's make a technical overview of our extractors!

Main technical characteristics and product types

Every dust extactors for centralized systems, according to technical characteristics, working areas and sector of application, requires very precise evaluations about some factors such as size, power, suction volume and number of operators. Our sincere advice is to contact us by e-mail or telephone to get advice, obviously for free, on which and how many extractors are needed to filter the dust in your company, providing, as always, reliability and experience!

Our dust extraction systems range is divided into two complementary macro-areas:

- Dust extractors for centralized systems: equipped with latest generation turbines which varies from a minimum power of 2.2 kW to a maximum of 15 kW. They also include a highly efficient bag filter and an automatic/programmable cleaning system, thanks to the control panel it is possible to monitor the operation and adjust the cleaning intervals. An automatic switch-on and switch-off system starts the suction turbine when the first tool is activated and will stop it a few seconds after the last one is switched off, thus ensuring significant energy savings. Stucchi 1950 suction turbines can be used by two operators at the same time or more, depends on the specific needs of the customer; moreover, from 7.5 to 15 kW they can be equipped with an inverter, always maintaining efficient suction with minimum consumption.

- Energy distribution: multifunction terminals, articulated arms and sliding binary systems; these peripheral units serve to distribute suction energy, electricity and compressed air in the various processing areas. Their use, in synergy with the suction turbines, creates a real centralized system for dust extraction.

How do service units for energy distribution differ? And what features do they have? Let's find out in detail in the next paragraph.

Stucchi 1950 and dust extraction systems: how to distribute the suction energy

Stucchi 1950 energy distribution range, as mentioned above, is composed of peripheral units useful for distributing suction, electricity and compressed air in each processing area:

Here are our main solutions:

- Sliding Binary System: sliding binary of different sizes, allows you to position the service units near the work areas.

- Articulated Arms: mechanical systems of different sizes with support brackets and multifunction terminals.

- Multifunctional hexagons: hexagonal shaped unit with a characteristic yellow color, ideal as an end unit for articulated arm and rail system.

- Multifunction modules: terminal for free-standing or wall-mounted installation, models for energy distribution or cabinets for accessories and masking rollers available.

- Multifunction panels: wall recessed terminal, avoids unnecessary clutter and makes the preparation areas functional and tidy.

The standard line, both vacuum cleaners and energy distribution, is accompanied by an ATEX certified series, ideal for vacuuming combustible dusts such as carbon and aluminum. Suction units, multifunction terminals, articulated arms and sliding binary systems are therefore available with certified components thanks to the implementation, for example, of ATEX turbines or interlocked sockets; what distinguishes the two series, in addition to the technical components, is the aesthetics: classic white for the standard line, anthracite gray for the ATEX one.

On our website you will find a section dedicated to the ATEX series and another one with many examples of installations, divided by sector. Take a look, for any doubts we are always at your disposal!
