Limitations. Current Solar Farm and Solar Array Inspections

When Inspectors Can’t See the Problem — Why Manual Solar-Farm Checks Often Fall Short

Solar farms are only as productive as their weakest panel; but when inspection relies on human eyes and footsteps, many problems slip through the cracks. This article exposes the hidden flaws of traditional manual inspections: slow coverage of sprawling arrays, missed micro-cracks and soiling, safety hazards for inspectors, weather-dependent scheduling and data you can’t really trust. It argues that these limitations drive up long-term costs and reduce performance and proposes fixed bi-spectral camera monitoring as the smarter, scalable alternative that catches issues early and reliably.
