Ignition suppression system
Sparks are by far the most common cause of fires in dust collectors.
A single spark is enough to shut down production.
And when there's a fire in the wood industry, it's usually in the dust collection system.
This is the conclusion reached by Dr. Michael Kuhn from the Institute for Loss Prevention and Claims Research of Public Insurers (IFS) in an article in “Schadenprisma”, the IFS publication.
Evaluations by the IFS put it even more precisely: according to them, 74 percent of fires in extraction systems are caused by sparks.
They are by far the most common cause of fire.
At only 15 percent, spontaneous combustion of material is the second most common cause of fires.
The consequences are often devastating, especially in the woodworking industry: from production downtime to a fire that quickly engulfs the entire company - and in the worst case can mean the end of the business.
This shows how important spark extinguishing is as preventive fire protection, especially for dust collectors.
That is why we have developed a plug-and-play solution that is also ideal for small businesses:
Our plug-and-play ignition suppression system is a compact spark extinguishing system for dust extractors in accordance with DIN EN 16770, which prescribes such protection for two categories of dust extractors.
Our system detects sparks in milliseconds and extinguishes them before they even reach the dust collector.
The ignition suppression system is
- Compact
- Reliable
- Easy to install
- Immediately ready for operation
- Protection for people, machines and production
