OPT Alpha Gel Exhibited at GACS Expo 2017 in Stuttgart
Taica’s Alpha Gel Products for the Automotive Industry
Taica exhibited its OPT Alpha Gel, a pure silicone optical adhesive for displays, at GACS Expo 2017. GACS, short for Global Automotive Components and Suppliers, is a yearly event that features parts suppliers from around the globe. Parallel to the GACS Expo three other exhibitions were held alongside at Stuttgart Messe: Automotive Ineriors Expo, Automotive Testing Expo and Engine Expo 2017.
Taica’s Alpha Gel sales team used this opportunity to present one of its latest technologies, OPT Alpha Gel. OPT Alpha Gel is used in displays, between cover glass and LCD module filling up the air gap to improve luminance, contrast, brightness by eliminating reflection between the display layers. It also protects the screen from touch pressure that could create so-called Mura effects (color distortions when pressure is applied to a display). Safety is always a great concern in the automotive industry, therefore clear visibility of all interior displays in instrument cluster and infotainment system is highly important. This is why most displays in automotive already incorporate optical bonding, and if you’re driving a Japanese car, chances are you’re looking at or in that case through OPT Alpha Gel.
Of course the ever impressive egg drop experiment was displayed as well which again attracted more visitors to the Taica booth than to any other booth in the vicinity. An egg is dropped from body height onto a 2cm thick Alpha Gel pad without breaking. Even from 18m height the egg doesn’t break, which is why the egg can even be thrown with force onto the gel pad for demonstrative purposes at exhibitions.
Along with the egg drop experiment and the OPT Alpha gel display solutions, Taica also exhibited their vibration damping solutions which have been finding application in the automotive industry for many years now.
In their effort to expand their customer base in Europe Taica will continue to exhibit at different fairs on European soil in the future.
