Supervising chilled pharmaceuticals

Cloud computing with wireless data loggers enables easy safeguarding of the cold chain during storage and transportation

Complying with legal regulations and maintaining quality at the highest possible level is of vital importance for pharmacies dealing with sensitive and costly drugs. T&D Corporation now provides wireless data logger solutions with alert functions and cloud storage facilities that enable accurate handling and safeguarding of pharmaceuticals. The robust, DIN EN 12830-approved RTR-500 series monitors different temperature zones simultaneously while measurements are automatically documented, even during transportation or in large storage areas. Whether it’s inside or outside of bustling day-to-day business hours, data loggers guarantee safety and save manpower at all times.

The matchbox sized, lightweight devices can be fixed wherever temperature measurement is needed, even inside cabinets, refrigerators and chilled transportation boxes. Depending on the chosen sensor type, additional parameters such as relative humidity, voltage, mA (4-20mA), pulse, UV, illuminance and CO2 can also be measured. Up to 100 data loggers can be wirelessly connected to a base station that automatically forwards measurements at chosen intervals via WLAN, cable LAN, USB or GSM to T&D’s cloud-based WebStorage Service. This cloud server offers 20 MB of storage capacity per registration, which is sufficient for comprehensive archiving. At any time and from anywhere, data can be easily accessed with a PC or with the T&D mobile app. Thanks to the Current Readings Monitor software that’s supplied free of charge with the RTR-500 series data loggers, measurements are displayed continuously in neatly-arranged tables and graphs for easy documentation. Should critical temperatures be reached, the system relays an alert by SMS, e-mail or optical and acoustic signals via the app or on site. Appropriate action can then be taken before damage occurs and precious goods are spoiled.
