Packaging: slicers with 3D deposit

The heart of the machine is the orbital cutting system which is formed by a main wheel (Eccentric) which supports, in offset position, an independent motorized cutting disc; as the disc leans abundantly out of the Eccentric’s circumference, during its rotation the cut can be only in a determined angular sector.

The cam which determines the movements is quickly calculated both according to the parameters of the formula in use, and from feedback coming from a weighing system; this way you can apply possible changes to the slices thickness in order to obtain packet complex weight within the provided tolerance limit.

During cutting, and according to a “finished status machine” which considers initial and final product scraps and the number of missing slices to complete the packet, it executes movements of 3 interpolated axes which pack the product; kinematics applied to this group is not Cartesian because the axis which adjusts the height to pick up is pivoted to the next transport belt so it doesn’t execute a linear movement but angular.

Due to the high rate of production, 600 slices/minute, to manage this machine we have used a Power N, the most powerful of the Power family, but with the same application program it’s possible to manage also machines which require less performance with a Power F controller.
