Product Focus on the Steriprobe® Autoclave Load Probe

The Steriprobe® is designed for reliable, trouble free temperature measurement of the chamber or product loads in water cycle or steam autoclaves.

The problems of reliable temperature measurement inside the arduous conditions of an autoclave are well known by Production Staff and Engineers. The traditional temperature probe design without conduit is susceptible to snagging, especially when lead lengths can be up to 10 metres for large autoclaves.

Even the smallest tear in the jacket of the lead wires can allow steam to penetrate which, after the cycle has completed, can cause condensate to pool around the sensor. This inevitably causes erratic readings in future cycles and reduced measurement accuracy, ultimately leading to premature probe failure with resulting expensive down time for replacement.

The Steriprobe® range of autoclave chamber probes was designed by Thermal Detection in response to these problems, and it is widely used by both autoclave manufacturers and end users across the globe.

Key design features are:

-> All 316L stainless steel construction

-> Double lock stainless steel conduit to protect the lead wires. The double lock increases the mechanical protection and prevents unspiraling.

-> Unique manufacturing process to ensure the probe is sealed against moisture ingress.

-> Tailpiece to allow probe to be sealed through the autoclave wall.

-> Wide range of fittings available for mounting.

-> Jacket used for lead wires is FDA listed (21CFR 177 2600).

-> Unique piece identification for traceability.

Probes can be custom built to meet a wide range of requirements:

->Probe diameter and length, conduit length, tailpiece diameter and length, lead wire length.

->Complex probe designs with reduced tips, bends, chisel or pointed tips.

->Sensor type (Type T thermocouple, PT100 Class A or fractional DIN with 3 or 4 wires).

->Sensor number (Single, Duplex, Triplex).

->Silicone jacket to USP Class VI can be specified.

->Probes can be pickled, passivated and electropolished. This removes a layer of base material and improves the aesthetic appearance.

->Customer marking can be etched to each probe.

->Material certificates supplied on request..

->A wide range of mounting arrangements available.

A range of sizes matching OEM specified parts are also available from stock for rapid despatch.
