Shot blasting and sand blasting
different applications
Shot blasting uses a high-speed rotating impeller to throw small steel shots or iron shots to hit the surface of the part at high speed, so the oxide layer on the surface of the part can be removed, at the same time, the hits cause the crystal lattice on the surface of the part to distort and deform, increasing the surface hardness. It is a method of cleaning the surface of the part. Shot blasting is often used to clean the surface of castings or strengthen the surface of parts.
Generally, shot blasting is used for regular shapes. Several shot blasting heads are used together, up, down, left and right, with high efficiency and low pollution.
Sandblasting is a method that uses compressed air to blow quartz sand out at high speed to clean the surface of parts. It is also called sand blowing in the factory. It not only removes rust, but also removes oil. It is very useful for painting. It is often used to remove rust from the surface of parts; to modify the surface of parts (small wet sandblasting machines sold on the market are used for this purpose, the abrasive is usually corundum, and the medium is water); in steel structures, the use of high-strength bolts for connection is a relatively advanced method, because high-strength connections use friction between joint surfaces to transmit force, so the quality of the joint surface is very high. At this time, the joint surface must be treated with sandblasting. Sandblasting is used for complex shapes, easy manual rust removal, low efficiency, poor on-site environment, and uneven rust removal situations. General sandblasting machines have sandblasting guns of various specifications. As long as the box is not particularly small, the gun can be put in and blasted clean. The supporting product of the pressure vessel - the head uses sandblasting to remove the oxide scale on the surface of the workpiece. There is a kind of processing that uses water as a carrier to drive emery to process parts, which is a kind of sand blasting.
