Brazil: Supporting the Rapid Growth of EV Charging Infrastructure in Latin America
The Smarter E South America brings together key sectors across the renewable energy industry, including solar energy, energy storage, electric mobility, EV charging infrastructure, electrical infrastructure, and energy management.
Latin America's EV market has been expanding rapidly in recent years. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), EV sales in Latin America exceeded 350,000 units in 2025, representing year-on-year growth of approximately 75%. Brazil accounted for around 180,000 EV sales, with EVs representing approximately 9% of new vehicle sales.
As EV adoption continues to increase, Brazil is also accelerating the development of public charging infrastructure. The number of public charging points grew by nearly 35% in 2025, while demand for fast-charging solutions continues to rise.
At the same time, Brazil is supporting the transition toward cleaner transportation through a combination of government policies and market investment. Initiatives such as the MOVER program, together with green financing instruments from BNDES and evolving grid-connection and operational standards from ANEEL, are creating new opportunities for EV charging and clean energy infrastructure.

Charging Power Solutions Designed for Challenging Environments
Latin American charging infrastructure can face demanding operating conditions, including high temperatures, high humidity, and salt exposure. Reliability and energy efficiency are therefore critical considerations for charging equipment.
At The Smarter E South America, Tonhe Technology presented several charging power modules optimized for demanding environments and high-power applications.
80kW High-Power EV Charging Module
Peak efficiency of ≥97.5%
Power density of 80 W/in³
Integrated magnetic design to reduce installation space
Zero standby power consumption
Wide-temperature operation
Suitable for megawatt charging systems, heavy-duty EV charging, and other high-power applications
40/50kW EV Charging Modules
Designed for non-residential charging applications, these modules feature a common form factor and have obtained TÜV SÜD CE certification. With peak efficiency of ≥97.3%, they can help charging equipment manufacturers improve system efficiency while reducing certification and development costs.
30/40kW EV Charging Modules
Designed for residential charging applications, these modules have obtained CE and cTUVus certifications, with peak efficiency of ≥97.2% and operating noise as low as 60 dB.
To improve reliability in harsh environments, Tonhe Technology also applies double-sided PCB conformal gel-filling protection, helping protect critical electronic components against moisture and salt-mist corrosion. Combined with Tonhe's proprietary main control system and SECC communication and control system, the company provides customers with technical support covering both power modules and control systems.
This integrated approach can help local charging companies shorten development cycles and accelerate the deployment of new charging products.

South Korea: Meeting High Standards for the Next Stage of EV Charging
At the same time, Tonhe Technology exhibited at EV TREND KOREA 2026 in Seoul, an important industry event covering electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, batteries, automotive electronics, and mobility services.
South Korea's EV market is increasingly moving from rapid market expansion toward infrastructure upgrades, higher performance requirements, and greater equipment standardization.
In 2026, South Korea continues to strengthen support for EV charging infrastructure, with a reported annual budget of KRW 545.7 billion and plans to deploy approximately 71,500 charging points. At the same time, the introduction of differentiated public charging tariffs and the continued development of ultra-fast charging are accelerating the commercialization of advanced charging infrastructure.
The development of a unified Plug & Charge (PnC) certification system is also raising the requirements for communication compatibility, interoperability, and equipment standardization.
Beyond EV charging, continued development in energy storage systems (ESS), Solar + Storage + Charging, and commercial EV support policies is creating additional opportunities across Korea's clean energy ecosystem.
