Electrical erosion commonly occurs in bearing applications, such as motors, power generators, and other electrical equipment. Based on investigations TPI has done, the most common damage pattern would be electrical pitting. Replacing standard bearings with ceramic hybrid bearings or resin insulated bearings has proven to be effective solutions to electrical pitting.
